While the podcast is establishing itself as a new platform, many transmedia narratives are emerging around it. In recent years the such-named transpodcasts have won visibility as experiences that overflows its sound limits and expand its stories and involvement while keeping the podcast itself as a central point. At this context, this research analyzed the participation of independent podcasters from the City of Córdoba who developed transpodcast projects during the first half of 2021. To achieve this general objective, a qualitative research was carried out together with ethnographic field-work. After mapping key actors and in-depth interviews, relevant data was obtained to describe the current state of independent transpodcast in the podcastsphere of Córdoba’s city; characterize their motivations, the production actions and the results obtained by the podcasters; classify the competencies they acquired; distinguish links between actors of different projects. After the analysis, it was concluded that the podcasters of the city of Córdoba produce transpodcasts to reach more people, enrich their main narration and avoid atomization on the series within hosting and streaming platforms; the execution of each project was in the hands of a multidisciplinary team that designed and implemented processes and procedures in a coordinated manner; As a result, the experiences produced were characterized by their quality, however, concerns were detected about economic sustainability and long term. As a main result, it’s concluded that podcasters became professionalized. Also, specific roles are defined within relatively stable teams in projects execution. As a contribution to this debate, the name transpodcaster is proposed to refer fundamental people in the production of each transpodcast. In terms of engagement, this profile would be superior to those already described by David García-Marín in his taxonomy of podcast users.
