Este artículo analiza el estado de la investigación sobre el sentido de la
escuela en países como México, Chile, Argentina y Colombia a partir del año
2000 hasta el 2016. Inicialmente se define el término sentido desde la filosofía
y se relacionan las investigaciones con base en elementos comunes al sentido
de la escuela. Posteriormente se identifican seis tendencias frente al sentido
de la escuela y al significado de esta como espacio social y de identidad, en
las trayectorias escolares y las representaciones sociales, como expectativa
futura, así como desde la pérdida de sentido
This article analyzes the state of the art on the meaning of the school in countries such as Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Colombia from 2000 to 2016. Initially the term meaning is defined from the philosophy and researches are related based on elements common to the meaning of the school. Subsequently, six tendencies are identified in relation to the meaning of the school and to the meaning of this as social and identity space, in school trajectories and social representations, as future expectation and as well as from the loss of meaning.
