dc.description.abstractLa floricultura ocupa un lugar relevante dentro de las producciones de base agropecuaria argentina. En las últimas décadas la demanda de flores de corte y en maceta creció considerablemente y además, la importancia socioeconómica del sector. El objetivo de este trabajo es caracterizar desde el punto de vista productivo y socioeconómico el sector florícola (flor de corte y vivero) del Gran Rosario. En el área de Rosario, se realizaron dos censos (2001-02 y 2006-07). En Pérez se concentra el mayor número de productores de flor de corte. Más del 70% producen crisantemo (Dendranthema grandiflora) y clavel (Dianthus caryophyllus.), con el 82% de la superficie de flores de corte. En 2002-03 la especie más representativa fue crisantemo, luego clavel y más alejado rosa (Rosa sp.). En 2006-07 se destaca el clavel, en segundo lugar crisantemo y luego rosa, incrementándose notoriamente su superficie. La mayoría de los floricultores rosarinos realiza cultivos protegidos. El 50% posee cámara de frío. Casi la totalidad utiliza pulverizadora manual y calefacción a carbón o leña. El riego por goteo es importante para realizar una fertilización dosificada. La producción zonal de flores de corte se destina al mercado interno, abasteciendo a Rosario y regiones aledañas. El clavel es la especie de mayor Margen Bruto. Menor relevancia adquieren los viveristas, quienes diversifican su producción entre arbustos, árboles ornamentales, plantines florales y plantas en maceta y/o aromáticas, con muchas o pocas especies de acuerdo a la escala de producción.en_US
dc.description.abstractFloriculture occupies an outstanding place in Argentine agricultural production. During the last decades, both the demand for cut flowers and potted plants and the socioeconomic importance of this sector have increased considerably. The objective of this work was to characterize the flower sector (cut flowers and nurseries) of the Gran Rosario area. Two censuses were carried out nearby Rosario city in the years 2001-02 and 2006-07. The greatest number of cut flower producers was found in Perez. Over 70% of the flower producers cultivated chrysanthemums (Dendranthema grandiflora) and carnations (Dianthus caryophyllus), covering 82% of the total area devoted to cut flower production. In the 2002-03 census, the most representative species were chrysanthemums, followed by carnations; roses (Rosa sp.) occupied the third place with a lower production in comparison with the first two species. In the 2006-07 census, the most representative species were carnations, followed by chrysanthemums, and in the third place roses, with a highly increased cultivation area. Most of the flower producers in Rosario used protected cultivation methods. 50% of them had cold chambers. Most of them used hand sprayers and coal or firewood heating. Dripping irrigation is important for dosed fertilizer application. Local cut flower production is commercialized in the local market, supplying flowers for Rosario and its nearby areas. Carnations provide the highest Gross Margin. Nursery producers, who diversify their production with shrubs, ornamental trees, flower plants, plants in pots and/or aromatic plants, with a varying number of species depending on the scale of production, are less important.en
