'Ubique naufragium est' (Satyricon 115.16): el naufragio metafórico y la recepción del énfasis de Petronio en Tácito y otros

| dc.description.abstract | El código cultural imperial permite asociar los textos literarios, sean estos una novela o un texto historiográfico, cuando se enuncian frases como "ubique naufragium est" (Petr.Sat.115.16) o "nihil tam capax fortuitorum quam mare" (Tac.Ann.14.3 ss.). Sobre esta hipótesis de que Tácito y los demás habrían leído el énfasis del naufragio en Petronio, el desarrollo de nuestro trabajo se presenta en dos partes: en primer lugar, nos concentramos en el objetivo de determinar en qué medida ambos textos y contextos presuponen una variada gama de interpretaciones posibles y al mismo tiempo una sorprendente ficcionalización de situaciones que la realidad romana de los viajes marítimos han puesto en escena. El cotejo intratextual de los pasajes de Satyricon destinados a la descripción y particulares resultados de los naufragios (Sat.76.3-7 y 115 ss.) nos conduce a analizar también la presencia de esta calamidad marítima en los Annales de Tácito donde solo el libro 14 presenta las escasas ocurrencias de la voz 'naufragium' de su obra completa. En Annales 14.3, Tácito trae a colación la construcción de una nave deliberadamente frágil para que en el momento oportuno diera como resultado la caída al mar de la madre del emperador, Agripina. Otros historiógrafos como Dion Casio dieron cauce a esta narración del episodio del intento de asesinato de Agripina con variaciones que resultan claves para volver a Petronio y evidenciar la intertextualidad subyacente entre este episodio en Petronio y las narraciones de los historiógrafos imperiales. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: The Imperial cultural code allows for the association between literary texts, whether they are a novel or a historiographic text, when phrases such as "ubique naufragium est" (Petr.Sat.115.16) or "nihil tam capax fortuitorum quam mare" (Tac.Ann.14.3 ss.) are uttered. Based on the hypothesis that Tacitus and others would have read the emphasis given to the shipwreck in Petronius, the development of our work will be presented in two parts: first, we will focus on the objective of determining to what extent both texts and contexts presuppose a wide range of possible interpretations and, at the same time, a surprising fictionalization of situations that the Roman reality of maritime voyages has brought forward. An intratextual comparison of the passages in Satyricon devoted to the description and specific outcomes of shipwrecks (Satyricon 76.3-7 and 115 ff.) also leads us to analyze the presence of this maritime calamity in Tacitus' Annales, since only Book 14 presents the few occurrences of the word "naufragium" in his complete works. In Annales 14.3, Tacitus mentions the construction of a deliberately fragile ship so that, at the right moment, it would result in the emperor's mother, Agrippina, falling into the sea. Other historians, such as Dio Cassius, included this account of Agrippina‘s attempted assassination episode with variations that are key, returning to Petronius, to highlight the underlying intertextuality between this episode in Petronius and the accounts of the imperial historians. | |
