La forma en que las instituciones multilaterales
han respondido ante la pandemia de Covid-19 ha
permitido que cobren fuerza las voces que marcan la crisis o el fin del multilateralismo. Con
el propósito de comprender qué está ocurriendo
con el multilateralismo, proponemos abordar la
problemática desde los modos en que se manifiesta la disputa de poder en el contexto global.
Analizar las formas en que China y Estados
Unidos manejan su participación en el escenario
multilateral en lo que va del siglo XXI permite
observar que las instituciones multilaterales se
han convertido en un ámbito donde la competencia se manifiesta a partir de estrategias de política internacional con diferente enfoque y donde
se pone en juego la definición de los bienes públicos globales.
The responses of multilateral institutions to the COVID-19 pandemic allowed that the voices that highlight the crisis or the end of multilateralism gain strength. To understand what is going on with the multilateralism, we propose to focus on the global power dispute. Analyze the ways in which China and the United States handle their participation in the multilateral scenario in the 21st century, allows us to observe how multilateral institutions have become an arena of competition where the two super powers develop different strategies and the definition of global public goods is at stake.
