In a context of digitalization, technical and cultural convergence, radio is transformed. The introduction of new platforms in the media ecosystem has generated a mutation in the radio species, enabling new ways of producing and linking with users, where the logics of networking coexist and hybridize with those of traditional mass broadcasting. During its first century of life, the media interface of radio as an “environment of interaction” (Scolari, 2018) was hardly altered. Today radio is presented through interactive screens, in variable environments that are no longer limited to sound and enable new relationships between people and technologies. As a result of these changes in the interface, the radio experience itself would also be modifying, new practices and meanings are linked to the radio universe. We are thus faced with the need to generate new explanations and approaches that can define the limits and potential of radio in the 21st century. A socio-semiotic study of the platforms of Radio Metro <Metro951.com> and Radio Nacional <Radionacional.com.ar> will allow us to advance in the knowledge of the elements that configure the interface of a new radio and that shape the radio experience in the digital age .
