El presente aporte se concentra en el Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) signado entre la región
centroamericana y los Estados Unidos, es decir, Central American Free Trade Agreement &
Dominican Republic (CAFTA-DR). Afirmamos que: a) la suscripción del acuerdo se vincula al
concepto de bandwagoning por cuanto implica –a la luz de sus protagonistas- una forma de
obtener ganancias a partir de la alianza con un socio poderoso como los Estados Unidos; b) el
TLC ha tendido a profundizar las condiciones de asimetría intrarregional, así como entre el
bloque que conforman los países centroamericanos y los Estados Unidos, diferencias que ya
eran profusas y evidentes a la hora de la firma
This contribution focuses on the Free Trade Agreement signed between Central America and the United States, ie Central American Free Trade Agreement & Dominican Republic (CAFTADR).
