| dc.description.abstract | El siguiente trabajo girará en torno a la construcción de corpo-realidades y proyectos corporales contemporáneos transversalizados por el sistema económico capitalista. En la actualidad occidental y capitalista nuestra materialidad (cuerpo) se moldea y significa distinto que hace un siglo. Gestionamos nuestra apariencia en función de otros parámetros de deseabilidad y estatus. La importancia de esta puntualización radica en poder reflexionar sobre el capital corporal y las corpo-realidades que se configuran bajo las dinámicas de consumo que cosifican a los cuerpos —propios y ajenos— en diferentes niveles de la vida cotidiana. Se eligió el caso de los proyectos corporales porque permiten ejemplificar cómo se establecen los imaginarios sobre la corporalidad y el deseo amarrados al género, la racialización, el estrato socioeconómico y la edad. Por lo tanto, la reflexión pivoteará los conceptos de corpo-realidad, proyecto y capital corporales para tejer un argumento que plantea un enfoque novedoso sobre los estudios corporales y su abordaje en sociedades contemporáneas. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The following essay will focus on the construction of contemporary body-realities and bodily projects, transversalized by the capitalist economic system. In today's Western, capitalist world, our materiality (the body) is shaped and signified differently than it was a century ago. We manage our appearance based on other parameters of desirability and status. The importance of this clarification lies in being able to reflect on bodily capital and the bodily realities that are configured under the dynamics of consumption that objectify bodies—our own and others'—at different levels of everyday life. The case of body projects was chosen because they exemplify how imaginaries about corporality and desire are established, tied to gender, racialization, socioeconomic status, and age. Therefore, the reflection will pivot on the concepts of body-reality, body project, and body capital to weave an argument that proposes a novel approach to body studies and their approach in contemporary societies. | |
