Jorge Lozano, referente de la semiótica española y miembro del Consejo Editorial de La Trama recientemente desaparecido, es el objeto de esta semblanza en la cual su autor evoca, a través de sus recuerdos como discípulo suyo, la trayectoria intelectual de una figura singular en estrecha conexión con los derroteros de la semiótica europea. De esta manera planteado, el relato biográfico se entrevera con el auge de la disciplina en los años ‘60 y ‘70, continúa con su eclipse en los ’80 y la irrupción de la semiótica de la cultura en los ‘90, y llega a nuestros días con la recuperación por parte de Lozano de temas como el secreto, la transparencia, la persuasión y la estrategia en pos de una síntesis de las dimensiones cooperativa y conflictiva de la comunicación.
The late Jorge Lozano, oustanding figure of Spanish semiotics and member of La Trama Editorial Board, is the subject of this biographic profile. Taking advantage of his own memories, the author, one of his disciples, evokes the life and intelectual path of this singular personality in conjunction with the European semiotics ups and downs. In such a way, the biographic narration mingles with the discipline booming in the Sixties and the Seventies, its subsequent downturn in the Eighties, and the irruption of Semiotics of Culture in the Nineties. The biographical itinerary ends at this century, with the recovery of topics as secret, transparency and persuasion as part of Lozano’s project to articulate the cooperative and strategic dimensions of communication.
