En el presente trabajo se analiza la historieta de 1969 "Apúrenle a llegar a la Luna antes de destruir la Tierra”,del caricaturista mexicano Eduardo del Río (Rius), la cual funciona como un exemplum de la corriente críticaque nace a mediados del siglo XX y que dará forma a los posteriores movimientos ambientales. En esta investigaciónse indagará en el modelo interpretativo de la historieta: la contradicción entre la cantidad de recursos económicos ypolíticos empleados para llegar a la Luna y la persistencia de problemas sociales estructurales que socavan los derechos humanos de la mayoría de la población. Como se verá, la crítica formulada por Rius medio siglo atrás encuentra referentes en las actuales problemáticas relacionadas al desarrollo sostenible.
The aim of this article is to analyze the 1969 comic “Apúrele a llegar a la Luna antes de destruir la Tierra” of Mexican caricaturist Eduardo del Río (Rius). It can be considered as an exemplum of the critic vision of the middle XX century, which leads to the current environmental movements. This work describes the interpretative model of the comic: the contradiction between the economic and political resources to afford the travel to the Moon and the persistence of structural social problems than undermine the Human Rights of the population. The half-century ago critics of Rius find its reference in the current discussion about sustainable development.
