El presente artículo analiza las características que adquirieron
los monasterios que se instalaron en los reinos anglosajones durante el proceso de cristianización de los mismos, así como la relación con la figura del
obispo que surgió de ellos. Con este fin, se abordarán las particularidades
que alcanzaron los vínculos entre la Iglesia y las dinastías reinantes, estrechamente relacionadas con la aristocracia guerrera, a través de un breve estudio
del caso de San Wilfredo, obispo de Northumbria.
The purpose of this article is to analyze the characteristics of the monasteries installed in the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms during the process of Christianization, as well as the relationship with the figure of the bishop emerged from this process. To this aim, the peculiarities given by the links between the Church and the ruling dynasties, closely related to the warrior aristocracy, will be addressed through a brief study of the case of St. Wilfrid, Bishop of Northumbria.
