Este trabajo explora la lectura que Severo Sarduy realiza de la imagen barroca precisando, desde una perspectiva culturalista, la importancia que esta noción adquiere en la estabilización de esta obra. Para ello, se retoman sus intervenciones sobre la visión presentada por el grupo Orígenes y sediscute la centralidad europea en el pensamiento histórico sobre el arte.
