El presente trabajoforma parte de la elaboración de un Proyecto de Doctorado, que tiene como objetivo mostrar cómo el encuentro con Oriente, fundamentalmente con Japón, provoca en el interior del proyecto intelectual barthesiano un quiebre, una ruptura al interior de suobra.A partir de este encuentro, quedaría desbaratado el universo simbólico occidental con el cual Barthes trabaja,para acceder a un reservorio de rasgos y a un sistema simbólico totalmente nuevo en relación al occidental. Este giro le permite realizar una operación revolucionaria en el marco de los sistemas simbólicos tradicionales, además de poner a funcionar dicha operación en su propia producción.
