This article addresses the relationship between the magazine Primera Plana and the de facto government of General Juan Carlos Onganía. Part of the interest in studying this question is given by the limited treatment that has been given to the role of the weekly during the period 1966-1970, as most of the work is aimed at analyzing the role he held the magazine in destabilizing Arturo Illia government and the formation of the image of Onganía as leader the country needed. Thus, we could establish that during that period, Primera Plana went through three stages in its relation to the de facto government. In the first, worried for providing some legitimacy to the military government, as well as to guide policy and criticize those that kept him away from his main objective. In a second step, the relationship is recomposed, largely due to the implementation of Krieger Vasena`s economic program, which was supported by the publication. In the last step, we find the final break of the magazine with the government, leading to the closure of the same
