IV se produce un cisma en la Iglesia Católica el norte de África llamado Donatismo que agrupa los elementos norafricanos, de origen púnico y bereber, que se oponen a la dominación del Imperio. La Iglesia Católica, primero tolerada por Constantino y luego oficializada por Teodosio, pasa a ser el brazo ideológico del enemigo según la percepción popular y también la de los ricos terratenientes del interior de la costa africana que lucraban sin embargo con el Imperio. De la mano de Agustín, el obispo teólogo, y de los ejércitos imperiales el movimiento es controlado, aunque no eliminado. Se pierden sus rastros recién en s. VII, con la llegada de los árabes a la región.es
dc.descriptionIt finds out beginnings s. IV takes place a schism in the Catholic Church of North Africa, called Donatism, that includes norafricans elements of Punic origin and Bereber, that were against the domination of the Empire. The Catholic Church, first tolerated by Constantine and soon made official by Theodosius, also passes to be the ideological arm of the enemy according to the popular perception and the one of the rich landowners of the highlands of the African coast, who went on trading nevertheless with the Empire. Of the hand of Agustin, the theological bishop, and the imperial armies, the movement is controlled, although not eliminated. Their signs just in s. VII are lost, with the arrival from the Arabs to the region.es
