El presente trabajo analiza la representación literaria del tren en dos obras monumentales
de la literatura iberoamericana contemporánea: la novela José Trigo (1966)
del mexicano Fernando de Paso y la obra lírica Poema Sucio (1975) del brasileño Ferreira
Gullar. La alusión al tren en ambas obras no se limita a una referencia temática simple,
sino que hace de la riqueza semiótica del tren –y de su particular fenomenología en cuanto
medio de transporte– una base figurativa abierta a las representaciones sonoras, las cuales
potencian el horizonte narrativo y figurativo de los discursos literarios, evidenciando además
la pertinencia de un análisis a nivel interdisciplinar literario-musical.
The present paper analyses the literary representation of the train in two monumental works of the contemporary iberoamerican literature: the novel José Trigo written by the mexican Fernando del Paso and the Poema Sucio of the brazilian poet Ferreira Gullar. In both on these works, the train is not restricted to a simple topical relation, furthermore its allusion make the most of the semiotic wealth on the sing train –with its particular phenomenology as passenger transport–, in order to provide a complex figural basis, which remain in dialog with acoustic references that improve the narrative and figural forecast of the literary discourses, in that way making clear its importance in the interdisciplinary literary-musical studies.
