Resumen
A lo largo de la historia, los Estados han buscado influenciar positivamente a otros países a través de sus valores, cultura y políticas, un concepto conocido como
estrategia de soft power. Corea del Sur ha capitalizado su creciente cultura popular, denominada Hallyu, que emergió en los años noventa y ha ganado reconocimiento a nivel internacional. Este fenómeno ha impulsado el crecimiento del turismo en el país y lo ha llevado a incursionar en el turismo médico, aprovechando su avanzada tecnología en este sector. La convergencia entre el turismo médico y el Hallyu ha consolidado a Corea del Sur como uno de los principales destinos médicos a nivel mundial. Este estudio busca explorar las relaciones entre los actores y políticas involucradas en la promoción del turismo médico, así como su contribución en la estrategia de soft power.
Throughout history, states have sought to positively influence other countries through their values, culture, and policies, a concept known as soft power strategy. South Korea has capitalized on its growing popular culture, known as Hallyu, which emerged in the 1990s and has gained international recognition. This phenomenon has fueled the growth of tourism in the country and led it to venture into medical tourism, leveraging its advanced technology in this sector. The convergence of medical tourism and Hallyu has solidified South Korea as one of the world’s leading medical destinations. This study aims to explore the relationships between the actors and policies involved in promoting medical tourism, as well as their contribution to South Korea's soft power strategy.
