La polarización política, tal como se manifiesta en numerosas sociedades actuales, evidenciaser un fenómeno fundado más en lo afectivo que en el pensamiento racional y el cotejo de evidencias.Según se ha investigado durante los últimos meses, dicho fenómeno se ha correlacionado con una faltade prevenciones del contagio de COVID-19 y con el desinterés o la negación de la relevancia de lavacunación. En consecuencia, la correlación mencionada evidencia que la polarización política hoyprecisa ser pensada, al menos hasta cierto punto, como un problema de salud pública.
Political polarization, as it manifests itself in many current societies, shows that it is aphenomenon based more on the affective than on rational thought and the collation of evidence. Asinvestigated in recent months, this phenomenon has been correlated with a lack of prevention of thespread of COVID-19 and with the lack of interest or denial of the relevance of vaccination.Consequently, the aforementioned correlation shows that political polarization today needs to bethought of, at least to some extent, as a public health problem.
