En este ensayo se cuestionan los papeles de género en tres novelas negrocriminales(novelas policiales y/o negras) nicaragüenses: Managua, Salsa City (¡Devórame otra vez!)(2000) de Franz Galich, La muerte de Acuario(2002) de Arquímedes González Torres y El cielo llora por mí(2008) de Sergio Ramírez. Se dedica especial atención a los conceptos de masculinidad implícitos en las obras, a la violencia de género y a las estrategias narratológicas con las cuales se logra (o no) un distanciamiento del comportamiento hiper-virilizado de los personajes.
This essay questions the gender roles in three Nicaraguan crime novels: Managua, Salsa City (¡Devórame otra vez!)(2000) byFranz Galich, La muerte de Acuario(2002) byArquímedes González Torres and El cielo llora por mí(2008) bySergio Ramírez. Special attention is paid to the implicit concepts of masculinity and gender violence as well as to the narrative strategies that achieve (or not) to create a certain distance between the narrator ́svoice and the hyper-masculine behavior of the characters.
