En este artículo pretendemos puntualizar de forma preliminar
una serie de mecanismos narrativos por los cuales la novela
Boquitas Pintadas (1969) de Manuel Puig remite a algunas
conformaciones del proceso de mediatización que proliferó
en Argentina en las primeras décadas del siglo XX1. A partir
de esta hipótesis de trabajo, entendemos que la lectura del
texto de Puig puede reflejar la forma en que los medios articulan
las relaciones sociales y lo interpretamos como una
expresión literaria de procesos más amplios, que son a la vez
culturales, políticos y comunicacionales
In this article we point out narrative resources by which the story of “Small Mouths Painted” (1969) by Manuel Puig refers to some conformations of the shaping mass media that proliferated in Argentina in the early decades of the twentieth century. From this hypothesis we understand that the Puig’s book is already thinking about how the media articulate social relations and we interpret it as a literary symptom of broader processes, which are the cultural, political and communication.
