A relação entre a semiótica de Peirce e a cognição se deve ao aspecto lógico da semiose
que se aproxima do conceito de mente em Peirce. Esse aspecto é expresso no conceito de
signo que indica uma lógica triádica em que a um signo determina outro criando um
encadeamento lógico. Tal noção de signo funciona como um modelo para descrever a mente.
No entanto, o aspecto lógico da semiótica expresso inicialmente na noção triádica de signo se
expande nos sistemas de classes de signos (de 10, 28 e 66 classes). Nossa proposta é mostrar
que podemos alcançar modelos mentais mais detalhados investigando os sistemas de classes
de signos e que eles nos ajudariam a comprender melhor a noção de mente em Peirce.
The relation between Peirce’s semiotics and cognition is due to the logical aspect of semiosis that approximates the concept of mind in Peirce. This aspect is expressed in the sign concept that indicates a triadic logic in which a sign determines another, creating a logical chain. Such a notion of sign works as a model for describing the mind. However, the logical aspect of semiotics expressed initially in the triadic notion of sign expands itself in the systems of classes of signs (of 10, 28 and 66 classes). Our proposal is that we can achieve more detailed models of mind by investigating the systems of sign classes and that they would help us to better understand Peirce’s notion of mind.
