En este trabajo nos proponemos abordar las reflexiones de José Ingenieros en torno a la
creación de una “nueva raza argentina blanca” a partir del análisis de su obra “Sociología
Argentina” entendiendo que su propuesta presenta un conjunto de definiciones sobre la ciudadanía
y la nacionalidad que problematizan la asimilación entre nacionalidad y ciudadanía
característica de nuestra legislación en los años del primer centenario de la Revolución de
Mayo (1910).
Con ese fin, el artículo se estructura en tres partes: raza, nacionalidad y ciudadanía a los fines
de abordar un aspecto del pensamiento del autor que creemos ha sido pasado por alto: la
importancia de la raza para pensar la configuración del cuerpo político de la nación.
From the analysis of the article of José Ingenieros “Sociología Argentina” this paper studies the author’s proposal of establish a “white race Argentina” in our country. We understand that the proposal presents a set of definitions about citizenship and nationality that problematized the assimilation between nationality and citizenship characteristic of argentine’s legislation in the years of the first centenary of the May Revolution (1910). To that end, the article is divided into three parts: race, nationality and citizenship in order to approach one aspect of the author’s thinking that we believe has been overlooked: the importance of race to think the configuration of political body of the nation.
