Dado que el devenir del proceso de diálogo entre el gobierno de Juan Manuel Santos y las FARC es de vital interés para los estados sudamericanos porque se enlaza con importantes cuotas del equilibrio subregional, este artículo analiza retrospectivamente, el impacto que tuvo la situación de seguridad internacional configurada en torno al conflicto interno del país andino sobre los vecinos fronterizos sudamericanos durante la década previa al inicio del mencionado proceso de negociaciones. El supuesto que guía el escrito versa sobre la relevancia del mismo para la preservación de la estabilidad subregional en función de las percepciones que los estados fronterizos a Colombia tienen con respecto al devenir de la conflictividad y el vínculo cooperativo entre ese país y Estados Unidos. Por último, desde una perspectiva metodológica, cabe puntualizar que se realiza un abordaje cualitativo basado en el análisis de fuentes primarias y secundarias
Since the evolution of the dialogue process between the government of Juan Manuel Santos and the FARC is of vital interest to South American states because it is linked with significant shares of subregional balance, this article analyzed retrospectively, the impact of the international security situation configured around the internal conflict in the Andean country on the South American border neighbors during the decade before the beginning of that process of negotiations. The assumption that guides the writing is about the importance of it as a variable would generate a range of possibilities for states in the subregion have a more active and committed role in the case of taking a post- armed conflict scenario, which would help in achieving higher levels of stability for the subcontinent. This considering the perceptions that the border states to Colombia have regarding the future of conflict and cooperative relationship between that country and the United States. Finally , from a methodological perspective , it is noted that a qualitative approach based on the analysis of primary and secondary sources is conducted
