Tomando como punto de partida El limonero real(1974), desarrollo una propuesta de lectura que supone un pensamiento sobre la imagen/mirada en el despliegue de la literatura de Juan José Saer. Con el fin de particularizar dicho pensamiento destaco la recurrencia de la presencia del despertar, y su articulación con la figurabilidad que encuentran las imágenes bajo la forma del destello.
