La presencia de tradiciones y temas políticos clásicos en las nuevas derechas latinoamericanas : el republicanismo bélico del PRO

| dc.description | En el contexto de los procesos de democratización de la región, las derechas latinoamericanas empiezan a presentarse con un perfil renovado: se organizan en partidos que compiten en elecciones, adaptan sus valores tradicionales a las sociabilidades contemporáneas, modifican los modos de reclutamiento de las elites políticas y modelan a sus líderes según los consejos del marketing político. En Sudamérica el ciclo de gobiernos de centroizquierda concluye y las nuevas derechas empiezan a llegar al gobierno. En la Argentina ese fenómeno se ejemplifica con el surgimiento y consolidación de un nuevo partido, Propuesta Republicana (PRO). ¿Es tan radical la ruptura con el pasado y la novedad de estas fuerzas partidarias? Este artículo plantea como hipótesis interpretativa que la comprensión del PRO como un ejemplo representativo de la nueva derecha latinoamericana depende de la manera de concebir las distintas temporalidades que coexisten en el presente. Para abordar esta cuestión se analiza la apropiación del concepto de república y de temas y retóricas republicanas en el discurso político del PRO. Desde este prisma se puede observar el vínculo que esta fuerza política establece con otras tradiciones e identidades políticas que no se reduce de la dicotomía entre la república liberal y el populismo. | es |
| dc.description | In the context of the democratizing processes of the region, the profile of Latin American Rights is changing: they are organized in parties competing in elections, adapting traditional values to contemporary societies, modifying political elite’s recruitment mechanisms and shaping their leaders according to political marketing advice. After more than a decade of center-left governments, South American new Rights are coming into government. In Argentina, this phenomenon is represented by the emergence and consolidation of a new party, Propuesta Republicana (PRO). Is the break with the past and the innovation of these parties that radical? This article proposes as an interpretive hypothesis that the understanding of the PRO as a representative example of the new Latin American Right depends on the way of conceiving the different temporalities that coexist in the present. To address this issue, the appropriation of the concept of republic and republican themes and rhetoric in the political discourse of the PRO is analyzed. This perspective sheds light on the links that this political force establishes with other political traditions and identities, a link that doesn’t just come down to the dichotomy between liberal republic and populism. | es |
