Presentamos una lectura de la trayectoria teórica de Eliseo Verón, desde mediados de los años cincuenta, cuando siendo muy joven participa de la Revista Centro, hasta su rol destacado en la emblemática revista LENGUAjes. Particularmente, nos detendremos en una cantidad de trabajos que entre los años sesenta y setenta van trazando su propuesta teórica epistemológica a par tir de la articulación de una variedad de perspectivas, como el estructuralismo de Lévi-Strauss, la semiología de orientación saussureana, la teoría de la comunicación de Palo Alto, y otros estudios sobre los procesos sociales de significación, que fueron, en cierta forma, la plataforma sobre la que se montó su teoría de la discursividad social. Este recorrido estuvo plagado de corrimientos, rupturas y ajustes, pero también de continuidades que sellaron un estilo propio de producción de conocimiento que lo convirtió en uno de los más destacados cientistas sociales argentinos contemporáneos.
In this paper we present a review of Eliseo Veron’s theoretical path, starting in the mid ‘50s, when he participated in Centro journal, up to his outstanding role in the emblematic journal LENGUAjes. Par ticularly, we will focus in the papers that between the sixties and seventies are setting his theoretical and epistemological proposal based on the articulation of a variety of perspectives, such as Lévi-Strauss’s structuralism, the Saussurean semioogy, Palo Alto's communication theory, and other studies about signification as social processes. Those papers can somehow be assumed as the foundations for his Social Discursiveness Theory. This path was full of changes, breaks and adjustments, but also of continuities that identified his own particular style of intellectual production which made him one of the most prominent contemporary Argentine social scientists.
