“Sírvase su majestad”: Los donativos regionales durante el gobierno del virrey Abascal según la Minerva Peruana y la Gaceta del Gobierno de Lima, 1808-1816

Los donativos graciosos fueron uno de los mecanismos que la Corona española utilizó para agenciarse de recursos económicos extraordinarios durante coyunturas de penuria fiscal o guerras internacionales. En esta investigación cuantificamos y analizamos las donaciones otorgadas por diversas regiones tomando como fuentes las publicaciones fidelistas Minerva Peruana y Gaceta del Gobierno de Lima. Asimismo, examinamos la postura política adoptada por los donantes en esta coyuntura bélica, y finalmente, a partir de algunos casos, analizamos las retribuciones obtenidas de la Corona española.
Gracious donations were one of the mechanisms that the Spanish Crown used to obtain extraordinary financial resources during times of fiscal hardship or international war. In this research we quantify and analyze the donations granted by various regions taking as sources the fidelista publications Minerva Peruana and Gaceta del Gobierno de Lima. Likewise, we examine the political position adopted by the donors in this war situation, and finally, based on some cases, we analyze the remuneration obtained from the Spanish Crown.
