Este trabajo pretende analizar la compleja situación de
la región fronteriza compartida por Colombia y Ecuador
y cómo cada uno de sus respectivos gobiernos
comprendidos en el período 2007-2013, han intentado
responder a cuestiones socio-económicas y políticas,
conformando una agenda de seguridad, e implementar
un sistema de cooperación bilateral. Esto ocurre en
el contexto político del ascenso al poder de Rafael Correa
en el año 2007, paralelamente a los últimos años
de ejercicio presidencial de Álvaro Uribe quien fuera
sucedido por Juan Manuel Santos, desde el año 2010.
This paper pretends to analyze the complex situation in the border region shared by Colombia and Ecuador and how each of their respective governments in the period 2007- 2013 have tried to respond to socio-economic and political issues, forming a security agenda, and to implement a system of bilateral cooperation. This happens in the political context of the rise of Rafael Correa in 2007, in parallel with the last years of President Alvaro Uribe exercise that was succeeded by Juan Manuel Santos, since 2010.
