Este artículo se propone describir y analizar la construcción de territorialidad/es
a partir de la práctica policial en la ciudad de Rosario. Nos interesa reflexionar
sobre cómo la dimensión territorial atraviesa y organiza diferentes aspectos de la
práctica policial. Para ello proponemos como hipótesis que las prácticas policiales
son una forma de construcción de territorialidad y por tanto una dimensión del
poder. Desde un enfoque etnográfico se abordan dos ámbitos de trabajo de
la organización policial: las seccionales policiales y el patrullaje del Comando
Radioeléctrico y se analizan los criterios de clasificación de tres espacios –Centro,
Barrio y ‘Villa’- y de quienes lo habitan; como también las valoraciones que los
agentes policiales expresan. Todo ello, nos permitirá mostrar las diferentes
construcciones de territorialidad que los agentes y la institución policial despliegan
en las diferentes zonas –jurisdicciones- de la ciudad.
This article describes and analyzes the construction of territoriality/ies as from police practice in Rosario city. We consider how territorial dimension goes through and organizes different aspects of police practice. Our hypothesis is that police practices are a kind of territoriality construction and therefore a power dimension. From an ethnographic approach we delve into two different fields of the police practice: police stations and patrolling of Radio Patrol Car and we anlyze the classification criteria of three areas -downtown, neighbourhood and slum- and of those who inhabit them, as well as the police officers’ assesments. This will allow us to show how the agents and of the Police institution display different territoriality constructions in various areas – jurisdictions – of the city.
