La re-emergencia de la Federación Rusa como actor global ha implicado la búsqueda de nuevas alianzas y espacios de vinculación. América Latina, debido a su interés geopolítico así como el objetivo de diversificar las relaciones comerciales, se ha constituido en una región de vital interés para el gobierno ruso. El proyecto de BRICS, liderado por Brasil, Rusia, India, China y Sudáfrica ha sido el principal motor en el resurgimiento de las relaciones con la región latinoamericana, siendo un puntapié para direccionar las relaciones con los principales países, como Argentina, Brasil y México.
The re-emergence of Russian Federation as a global player has lead to the search for new alliances and linking spheres. Latin America, due to its geopolitical interest and the main goal of commercial relations‟ diversification, has been established as a vital region for the Russian government. The BRICS project, leaded by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has been the major income in the re-growth of the relations with the Latin-American region, as a first step to direction linkages with the main countries, like Argentina, Brazil y México.
