Se discute los aportes e importancia de la aplicación de un estudio actualístico como la arqueología experimental en los estudios de sitios históricos, principalmente
en el análisis de los conjuntos arqueofaunísticos con presencia de huellas o marcas
antrópicas. Se plantea la aplicación de una metodología que considere en el análisis
e identificación de las huellas atributos descriptivos, ya que se considera que en los
criterios de tipo interpretativo se estarían determinado a priori sin una certeza confiable el agente productor de las mismas, es decir el tipo de instrumento utilizado
que dejó la huella en el hueso. Por esa razón se considera relevante la arqueología
experimental a partir de un diseño con un alto control de variables que contemple
la replicación y recreación para el estudio de huellas con diferentes tipos de instrumentos de metal sobre restos óseos.
This article discusses the contribution and importance of developing an actualistic study such as experimental archaeology in historical sites, particularly for the analysis of archaeofaunal assemblages with presence of anthropic traces or marks. The application of a methodology which considers the analysis and identification of marks as descriptive attributes is thus proposed, as it is considered that interpretative criteria would be just an a priori determination if certainty about the agent producing them -that is, the kind of instrument which left specific marks on the bones- is not available. For this reason, experimental archaeology should only be regarded relevant when a strict control of the variables is exerted concerning the replication and recreation of the traces left by different kinds of instruments -metal, in this case- on bone remains.
