El trabajo analiza la evolución
histórica de las relaciones entre los
dos países más importantes de la
UNASUR, Argentina y Brasil, en el
campo nuclear y espacial;
aprovechando aportes de distintas
corrientes teóricas, como el
constructivismo o la
interdependencia compleja. Se verá
así cómo se pasó de una
competencia y sospecha mutua,
especialmente en lo que hacía al
desarrollo nuclear durante los
períodos militares, a una creciente
cooperación en el ámbito
diplomático y político; y la manera
en la que este cambio en la dinámica facilitó avanzar en el
proceso de integración que
posibilitaría el surgimiento del
Mercosur durante la etapa
democrática. De esta forma, la
transformación en la relación entre
los históricos rivales en campos tan
sensibles como estos, puede ser un
modelo en situaciones similares que
afectan a otros países de la región.
The essay analyse the historic evolution of the relationship between most important countries of the UNASUR, Argentina and Brazil, in the nuclear and space fields. Making use of different theories, as the constructivism or the interdependence, we can see how the relation changed from a competence and mutual suspicion, especially in the nuclear development during the military periods, to a growing cooperation in the diplomatic and politic field. Also, we can observe the way in which this change in the dynamic helped the advance in the integration process that made possible the birth of the MERCOSUR during the democratic phase. By this way, the transformation in the relationship between the historical rivals in such sensitive fields as these can be a model in similar situations that affect others countries of the region.
