Un fantasma recorre la historia de las organizaciones sindicales chilenas de los últimos cuarenta años: el fantasma de las regiones (las provincias). La historia del Colegio de Profesores (en adelante, CDP), el sindicato de la docencia escolar más grande de Chile no está exento de este fenómeno. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar dos episodios claves en la historia reciente del CDP en el bienio de 1993-1994, cuando los regionales del Biobío y de Antofagasta desarrollaron huelgas que tensionaron su relación con el Directorio Nacional. En cuanto a fuentes documentales, se utilizaron revistas y periódicos tanto de circulación nacional como regional.
A ghost runs through the history of Chilean trade union organizations over the last forty years: the ghost of the regions (the provinces). The history of the Colegio de Profesores (hereinafter, CDP), the largest school teachers' union in Chile, is not exempt from this phenomenon. The objective of this research is to analyze two key episodes in the recent history of the CDP in 1993-1994, when the Biobío and Antofagasta regions developed strikes that strained their relationship with the National Board of Directors. As for documentary sources, magazines and newspapers of both national and regional circulation were used.
