En la actualidad, La Habana es la
capital de América Latina que más
embajadas africanas posee. La
presencia de estas representaciones
diplomáticas demuestra la vitalidad
de las relaciones entre Cuba y África.
A pesar de la distancia geográfica y
las limitaciones económicas del
Estado cubano, el régimen caribeño
supo consolidar sus relaciones con el
continente africano. Este trabajo
analiza la naturaleza y el contenido
de dichas relaciones. El objetivo es
considerar los elementos que
favorecieron la cooperación y las
perspectivas de la misma a la luz de
una posible normalización de las
relaciones diplomáticas entre Cuba y
Estados Unidos.
Currently, Havana is the capital of Latin America that has more African embassies. The presence of these diplomatic representations demonstrates the vitality of relations between Cuba and Africa. In spite of the geographical distance and the economic limitations of the Cuban State, the Caribbean regime was able to consolidate its relations with the African continent. This paper analyzes the nature and content of these relationships. The objective is to consider the elements that favored cooperation and the perspectives of cooperation in the light of a possible normalization of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States.
