En este trabajo se trata de indagar algunos aspectos del nuevo crecimiento de la región de Rosario, en plena trasformación, en los últimos años, en particular por el llamado “boom sojero”.Se ponen al descubierto las contradicciones entre el gran desarrollo de la exportación de la soja, y sus industrias derivadas a niveles nunca vistos que enriquece a pocos y el deterioro de grandes sectores de la población sumidos en la pobreza. El Rosario de los Congresos; como el Congreso Internacional de la Lengua Española, de grandes eventos culturales, del turismo, de la ciudad puerto, de los capitales extranjeros que llegan a invertir y el oscuro panorama de la vida de los sectores marginales.
This paper attempts to find out some aspects about the new and significant growth in Rosario area in the last years, due particularly to the so called “soy boom”.Contradictions are here unveiled, between the great development of soy exportation and its secondary industries which have reached unknown levels benefiting only a few people, and the deterioration of large groups plunged into poverty. The Rosario of Conferences, such as the III International Conference on the Spanish Language, of important cultural events, of tourism, of the city-port, of foreign investment capitals, and the dark view of life of isolated social groups.
