Descripción
La insurrección que tuvo lugar en la provincia de Salta en el contexto de la guerra de independencia movilizó a amplios sectores de la población rural. Esta insurrección adquirió, sin embargo, diferencias sustanciales según se tratara del valle de Lerma, el valle Calchaquí o la Frontera. En esta oportunidad nos proponemos señalar algunas de estas diferencias, destacando la importancia que la movilización tuvo en el valle de Lerma, dónde los conflictos en torno a la tierra y al ganado a fines de la colonia brindaron las condiciones propicias para que la militarización expresara reivindicaciones sociales y políticas. Para ello es también preciso prestar atención a los liderazgos surgidos en el proceso insurreccional ya que los mismos permiten comprender los alcances y los límites del mismo.
The insurrection that took place in Salta Province, in the context of war for independence, mobilized wide sectors of the rural population. How ever, this insurrection acquire substantial differences according it’s develop in Lerma Valley, Calchaquí Valley or the Frontier. In this opportunity, it is especially interesting to analyze same of these differences, highlighting the important of the mobilization that took place in Lerma Valley, where the conflict for land and cattle, in the end of colonial period, gave the optimal condition for a militarization that express social and political vindication. As the same time, it’s necessary to pay attention to the leadership that arises in the insurrectional process, in order to understand their range and their limitations.
