El pueblo rural Mariano Miró (Chapaleufú, La Pampa) se inició a la vera de la
estación homónima del Ferrocarril Oeste en 1901 y llegó a contar con casi 500
habitantes y una serie de negocios típicos de una ocupación comercial y agrícolaganadera. Este pueblo fue abandonado hacia 1911 debido al reclamo de los dueños
de las tierras donde se asentaba. A partir de ese momento, se comenzaron a utilizar
los terrenos para la explotación agrícola-ganadera. A comienzos de 2011 fuimos
convocados por el Departamento de Investigaciones Culturales de la provincia de
La Pampa y se iniciaron las investigaciones. En la actualidad, no se observan restos
de estructuras en superficie pero sí una gran cantidad de fragmentos vítreos, cerámicos y metálicos. Nuestro objetivo está dirigido a dar cuenta de la dinámica poblacional del área luego de las campañas militares que los incorporaron al territorio
nacional. Aquí presentaremos la primera aproximación al sitio, su contextualización histórica como también el análisis distribucional de los materiales de superficie, las concentraciones de metal y los resultados de las primeras excavaciones.
The rural town Mariano Miró (Chapaleufú, La Pampa) began on the banks of the homonymous railway West station in 1901 and had almost 500 inhabitants and a series of typical business of a commercial and farming occupation. Around 1911 this town was abandoned due to the claim of the land owner’s where it was based. Thereafter, they began to use the land for agricultural/livestock exploitation. At the beginning of 2011, the Department of Cultural Research in the province of La Pampa invited us and the investigations began. Currently, failure to observe remains of structures on surface but if a large amount of glass, ceramic and metal fragments. Our objective is directed to realize the population dynamics of the area after the military campaigns that incorporated them into the national territory.
