dc.descriptionEn los inicios del siglo XX el mundo del trabajo portuario de Buenos Aires se constituyó en un centro de la protesta obrera. En el barrio de La Boca, los conflictos y solidaridades diversas dieron lugar a la conformación de una identificación común y comunidad obrera. En este proceso se dio la particular coyuntura electoral en los primeros meses del año 1904, que dio por resultado en la circunscripción portuaria la elección del primer diputado socialista en el país y el continente. El presente trabajo, en la perspectiva de la historia social del mundo del trabajo, analiza tales elecciones en el marco de una coyuntura de alta conflictividad y radicalización de la militancia obrera protagonizada entre otros por obreros portuarios y marítimos. Indaga las formas eleccionarias en su dinámica barrial, como una dimensión significativa –junto a otras como la huelga portuaria y los carnavales - para la configuración del sujeto comunitario portuario.es
dc.descriptionAt the beginning of the 20th century, the world of port work in Buenos Aires became a center for workers' protest. In the neighborhood of La Boca, various conflicts and solidarities led to the formation of a common identification and working community. In this process, the particular electoral situation occurred in the first months of the year 1904, which resulted in the election of the first socialist deputy in the country and the continent in the port district. The present work with social history of labour perspective analyzes such elections in the context of a situation of high conflict and radicalization of the workers' militancy carried out among others by port and maritime workers. It investigates the electoral forms in its neighborhood dynamics, as a significant dimension -together with others such as the port strike and the carnivals- for the configuration of the port community subject.es
