This article analyzes the impact of technological innovation on the productivity and competitiveness of Argentine small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A mixed-methods, descriptiveexploratory, and correlational study was conducted, based on surveys and interviews with 43 companies. Preliminary results show a positive association between the adoption of digital technologies and perceived improvements in productivity, cost reduction, and competitiveness. A high predisposition toward digital transformation was also identified, although this coexists with weak strategic planning and limited knowledge of Industry 4.0. The study concludes that the main barriers to innovation are organizational and cultural rather than technological, highlighting the need to strengthen training and change management in SMEs.
