El presente artículo es el prólogo anotado que en su momento escribió Alberto Rex González al libro de Carlos Martínez Sarasola (1992), Nuestros Paisanos los Indios, el cual trata de las comunidades autóctonas en la Argentina. En dicho prólogo se explica el volumen como una síntesis de la historia y la vida de las comunidades aborígenes del país y las políticas que los gobiernos dirigieron hacia los pueblos originarios. El prólogo resalta como en el volumen se presenta al indígena en una historia y una realidad viviente de carne y hueso, y no como una curiosidad del pasado. El prólogo,
como todo el volumen, aboga por el reconocimiento y la liberación de los pueblos autóctonos como una forma de liberación nuestra, recuperando la verdadera cultura del país.
This article is the annotated foreword that Alberto Rex González wrote to Carlos Martínez Sarasola's (1992) volume, Nuestros Paisanos los Indios, which deals with indigenous communities of Argentina. This foreword is a synthesis of the history and life of the indigenous communities of the country and the policies that the governments directed towards the native peoples. This foreword highlights how in the volume the indigenous is presented in history and living reality of flesh and blood, and not as a curiosity of the past. The foreword, like the entire volume, advocates the recognition and liberation of indigenous peoples as a form of our liberation, recovering the true culture of Argentina.
