La sátira política en los inicios de la prensa gráfica periódica. El rol estratégico de las representaciones escrito-figurativas durante el proceso de mediatización de la política del Rosario (1871-1890)

Resumen
Teniendo en cuenta que el surgimiento de la prensa gráfica periódica, en tanto fenómeno
mediático del siglo XIX, se caracterizó por su estrecho vínculo con los agrupamientos
políticos de la época y que los medios gráficos puestos al servicio de las facciones o clubes
electorales son una muestra de aquella tensión finisecular, esta tesis se propone dar cuenta
del proceso de mediatización de la Argentina moderna y analizar el rol que cumplieron los
semanarios del género sátira-política publicados en la ciudad de Rosario entre 1871 y 1890.
En tal sentido, se estudiaron las relaciones entre aquellas configuraciones gráficas, sus
condiciones históricas de producción y los diferentes imaginarios políticos que se
construyen tras de sí.
La investigación llevada a cabo explora el uso y las funciones cumplidas por las
representaciones del género sátira-política y analizade qué manera participaron en las
disputas políticas de su tiempo. Dichos propósitos analíticos, organizados en un trabajo de
carácter interdisciplinar, requirieron caracterizar los modos de representación utilizados,
identificar el vínculo entre las distintas materias significantes y sus formas de realización y,
finalmente, reconstruir las particularidades del campo político, el desarrollo de la prensa
vernácula y las estrategias puestas en juego en las publicaciones seleccionadas: “La
Cabrionera” (1871-1877 / 1887-1890), “El Látigo” (1884) y “Caramelo” (1889-1890),
además de otras formas gráficas satíricas (folletines, hojas sueltas) y de los emergentes del
diarismo serio con los cuales se estableció un vínculo de constantes préstamos y fricciones
intertextuales que aceleraron el proceso de mediatización de la vida política de la ciudad.
The emergence of the periodical graphic press, as a phenomenon of the mediatisation processes of the XIX century, was characterized by the relation with the political groups of that time and the graphic media that they used for their purposes. This thesis analyse the role of the satirical-political weekly newspapers published in Rosario during 1871 and 1890. In this sense, the relations that were constructed among the graphic configurations, the historical conditions of production and the diverse political imaginaries, were studied. The research explores the usage and the social, cultural and political functions of the representations of the satirical-political gender and analyses how it was its role in the political power relations in that period. In order to achieve this goal, some activities were follow: the characterization of the modes of representation used by the satirical-political weekly newspapers, the identification of the bonds among the different significant matters, and how the relations and the development of the vernacular press created specific configurations of the political field that was being constructed. For this purpose, the most representative publications of the historical period were analyse: “La Cabrionera” (1871- 1877 / 1887-1890), “El Látigo” (1884) y “Caramelo” (1889-1890), besides other that were having an important role in the political mediatisation of the daily life of Rosario city.
