The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the transition from animal-powered vehicles to automobiles in the city of Morelia at the beginning of the 20th century. This will be done through the analysis of an extremely important archival document, the first traffic regulations of the city from 1908, which established several guidelines for healthy coexistence between both modes. By the beginning of the 20th century, many Mexican cities were effectively adapting to modern motorized transportation machines, but this did not mean that the old means were abandoned overnight. For this reason, this document is an essential source for understanding the beginnings of urban life in that locality, and in Mexico in general.1-30esopenAccessHistoriaAutomóvilesMovilidadDiscursosMoreliaDe la sangre a la gasolina : la transición de los coches de tracción animal a los automóviles en la primera reglamentación de tránsito de Morelia (México), 1908articuloAutor y Facultad de Ciencia Política y Relaciones Internacionaleshttps://doi.org/10.35305/cc.v1i25.192Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International ou are free to: Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
