The analysis of emotions in the realm of politics is not exclusive to the 21st century. Classical and modern thinkers have delved into this matter. Nowadays, the study of emotions in politics gains new momentum with the technological revolution of communication, which allows individuals to maximize their expressive capacity. In this context, Homo Digitalis emerges, a political subject characterized by an emotive response to time scarcity and information saturation, seeking refuge in a singular message alongside those who share their identity. Homo Digitalis is immersed in a "permanent state of negative campaigning" that leads to a negative affective polarization characteristic of moralizing the political scene. Thus, democracy advances into a new stage that can be characterized with the neologism of "Emocracy".1-24esopenAccessDemocraciaPolíticaHomo DigitalisPolarizaciónEmocraciaEmocracia : notas para delinear la nueva realidad de la políticaarticuloAutores y Cuadernos del CIESALhttps://doi.org/10.35305/cc.v1i23.148Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International You are free to: Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
