La historia del Colegio de Profesores (en adelante, CDP), el sindicato de la docencia escolar más grande de Chile no está exento de este fenómeno. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar dos episodios claves en la historia reciente del CDP en el bienio de 1993-1994, cuando los regionales del Biobío y de Antofagasta desarrollaron huelgas que tensionaron su relación con el Directorio Nacional. En cuanto a fuentes documentales, se utilizaron revistas y periódicos tanto de circulación nacional como regional.A ghost runs through the history of Chilean trade union organizations over the last forty years: the ghost of the regions (the provinces). The history of the Colegio de Profesores (hereinafter, CDP), the largest school teachers' union in Chile, is not exempt from this phenomenon.
