Para ello se repasa la situación de estos recursos en la actualidad. Asimismo, se revisan los aspectos inconclusos a la luz de lo acontecido en la agenda climática internacional en los últimos años, caracterizada por el traslado de la COP de Santiago, la escasez de resultados de la COP de Madrid y la oportunidad perdida que supone la cancelación de la COP de Glasgow en noviembre de 2020. Este artículo analiza los posibles impactos de estos hechos en un marco de creciente evidencias y del llamamiento de la comunidad científica por encontrar soluciones a la creciente crisis ambiental. Teniendo en cuenta la relevancia económica, social, cultural y biológica de los bosques y el agua, así como también el rol de los mismos en materia climática es que nos proponemos en este trabajo indagar las crecientes advertencias científicas sobre la relevancia de estos recursos y la actual crisis ambiental, reflexionar sobre los impactos de la crisis del COVID-19 sobre la agenda de ambos recursos y, finalmente, analizar lo sucedido con los bosques y el agua en las cumbres climáticas.The aim of this article is to analyze comparatively the situation of forests and water in the international climate sphere. For this, the current situation of these resources is reviewed. In addition, the inconclusive aspects are reviewed in light of what has happened on the international climate agenda in recent years, characterized by the transfer of the COP from Santiago, the lack of results from the COP in Madrid and the missed opportunity of canceling the Glasgow COP in November 2020. This article analyzes the possible impacts of these events in a framework of growing evidence and calls from the scientific community to find solutions to the growing environmental crisis. Taking into account the economic, social, cultural and biological relevance of forests and water, as well as their role in climate matters, we intend in this work to investigate the growing scientific warnings about the relevance of these resources and the current environmental crisis, reflect on the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on the agenda of both resources and, finally, analyze what happened to forests and water at climate summits.
