Se dedica especial atención a los conceptos de masculinidad implícitos en las obras, a la violencia de género y a las estrategias narratológicas con las cuales se logra (o no) un distanciamiento del comportamiento hiper-virilizado de los personajes.This essay questions the gender roles in three Nicaraguan crime novels: Managua, Salsa City (¡Devórame otra vez!)(2000) byFranz Galich, La muerte de Acuario(2002) byArquímedes González Torres and El cielo llora por mí(2008) bySergio Ramírez.
