2019-05-242019-05-242017-091853-9580http://hdl.handle.net/2133/14905Este ensayo plantea las líneas generales del marco teórico utilizado por los autores en su investigación acerca del concepto de “comunidad” en la novela modernista, inspirado fundamentalmente por el llamado “debate Nancy”, una serie de contribuciones intelectuales surgidas en torno al pensamiento del filósofo francés Jean-Luc Nancy, en diálogo con otros como Maurice Blanchot, Roberto Esposito, Jacques Rancière o Alain Badiou. Considerando la visión tradicional de la novela modernista como el espacio de un individualismo solipsista que permea buena parte de la crítica anglosajona, los autores buscan reivindicar el papel de lo comunitario en ella, centrándose en el caso de la escritora neozelandesa Katherine Mansfield. La segunda parte del artículo examina la representación de comunidades de artistas en sus escritos, centrándose con especial atención en su relación con Virginia Woolf y el Grupo de Bloomsbury.This essay set sout to explore the theoretical frame work used by the authors in their research around the concept of “community” in modernist fiction. Such frame work is inspired by the so called “Nancy debate”, a series of intellectual interventions around the work of the French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy, in dialogue with other thinkers such as Maurice Blanchot, Roberto Esposito, Jacques Rancière or Alain Badiou. Taking as a departure point the traditional reading of the modernist novel as a space for solipsistic individualism that has become dominant in much academic criticism in the English-speaking world, the authors seek to vindicate the role of the communal in modernist fiction, focusing on the work of the New Zealand author Katherine Mansfield.
