In Argentina, the Executive is the one who mainly manages and directs foreign policy matters. However, the Legislative Power can also be part of this process by overcoming those visions of international relations that tend to focus only on the decisions made by the President on the matter. In this article, we analyze the parties initiatives presented in the Chamber of Deputies regarding the activities of foreign individuals or organizations in the country (1938- 1943), to see if they acted as an obstacle or an incentive to the policies elaborated by the Executive in relation to the matter. This inquiry will allow us to appreciate the range of prevailing ideas on the subject, coming from the main political forces that were part of the Lower House at that time. But, it will also let us evaluate if the Legislative body adopted different resolutions from those of the President. We study, on the one hand, the way in which a decision was reached on international political issues and, on the other, the opinion of all the political parties represented in the Lower House, during the period of greatest expansion of the Third Reich.application/pdf67-95spaopenAccessCámara de DiputadosPoder ejecutivoPolítica exteriorArgentinaLower HouseExecutive BranchForeign policyLa Cámara de Diputados y la toma de decisiones en asuntos internacionales : el caso de las actividades de extranjeros en la Argentina (1938-1943)The Chamber of Deputies and decision-making on international issues : the case of foreigners’ activities in Argentina (1938-1943)articleAutor y ESE.
