2019-11-232019-11-232006-09-012469-0732http://hdl.handle.net/2133/17147Este trabajo intenta dar cuenta de la actuación de la Unión Obrera Metalúrgica (UOM) seccional San Nicolás ante la privatización de SOMISA llevada a cabo por el gobierno justicialista de Carlos Menem, exitoso en su política de reformulación de la economía argentina en clave “neoliberal”. La dirigencia de este gremio -que pertenece al partido político del gobierno-, es un claro ejemplo de cómo el sindicalismo argentino en los años ’90 no pudo, no quiso y o no supo frenar el impulso privatista del menemismo. El objetivo propuesto consiste en señalar cómo la estrategia sindical “vandorista”, característica de un gremio poderoso como la UOM y de otros gremios nacionales, fracasó en su intento de detener o al menos “condicionar” la privatización de la acería estatal SOMISA. Este ‘fracaso’ debe comprenderse en el marco de un contexto político, social y económico desfavorable para los sindicatos argentinos, así como también a la luz de la particular relación entre el gremio local y el gremio nacional de la UOM.This work aims at recounting for the performance of the UOM in San Nicolás regarding the privatization of the steel mill SOMISA, carried out by the Justicialist government of Carlos Manem, successful into his politics of the argentinian econmomy reformulation, turning it into a neoliberal one. The ruling class of this trade union movement – which belongs to the government political party – is a clear example of how this argentinian movement of the 1990s was not able to, did not want or could not restrain the menemist impulse to privatize.
