Por eso, algunos autores proponen centrarse en su comportamiento sintáctico (Sasse, 1995; Kovacci, 1999). Desde esta perspectiva, valiéndome de un corpus de ejemplos del español actual, me propongo indagar el funcionamiento del subgrupo de adverbios de grado, considerando junto con casos bien establecidos – terriblemente cansado, profundamente enamorado-, otros en los que la interpretación cuantificacional no está tan consolidada –finamente gasificada, salvajemente sofisticado–. Según se plantea, todos estos casos pueden ser considerados desde la perspectiva de la gramaticalización, ya que se trata de formas léxicas que, mediante lectura de grado, adquieren un valor más gramatical.It has always been difficult to classify the adverbs as a part of speech, since they are highly heterogeneous and they only seem to share the fact of being invariable. For this reason, some authors have suggested that what should be analyzed is its syntactic behavior (Sasse, 1995; Kovacci, 1999). From this perspective, and by using a corpus of examples of current Spanish, I propose to investigate the function of the subgroup of adverbs of degree. Along with those with a well established quantificational interpretation –terriblemente cansado (“terribly tired”), profundamente enamorado (“deeply in love”) –, I will also analyze others in which the quantificational interpretation it is not so firm –finamente gasificada (“finely carbonated”), salvajemente sofisticado (“wildly sophisticated”)–.
